Hi, Fox! Do you think these tri-sound switches are original? Is this guitar one of the regular models at that time? |

Hasenobu San, the tailpiece on the black AR is a QuickChangeII. They were introduced in 1983 but the serial number indicates a 1982 model. The bridge is correct for 1982, they changed to GibraltarII in 1983. The gold-top AR has the correct tailpiece to match the Gibraltar (type I) bridge. |

Hasenobu, on a case like this you must check the wiring.. It is very easy to modify AR 50 (and AR 100) to have 2 tri-sounds. May as well be some sort of special order from factory?? However, the guitar itself seems to be AR 50, chrome plated parts, dot inlays and all.. |

Blues, and Fox, thank you for your information. The owner of the black AR says that it has "Super 70" PUs, which is a kind of mystery to me. And though Fox writes "the guitar itself seems to be AR 50, chrome plated parts, dot inlays and all..," what about the inlays on the head? I have an early version of AR50BK (with 24 frets) myself, and my understanding is that an AR50 has no inlays nor body-binding.... |

Hasenobu, there has been 2 variants of AR 50, with or without body binding and as well with or without peghead inlay.. So this guitar in question mihgt as well be "modified" with cloud and two microswitches. Either in the factory, or the owner has done it. |

Fox, once again, I do appreciate your kindness. Now you mention it, yes, I remember there were 2 variants of AR50. Thank you indeed!! |
