It seems to start at the trem studs. Could be caused by strongly pulling the neck backward. If the body is not one piece (3 pieces glued), and you mill away a lot of material for the tremolo, the body piece connected to the neck is rather small. If the owner pulled the neck backwards in order to compensate a forward leaning neck (because of wrong string tension) he breaks out the middle part of the body. He should have gone to a qualified guitar tech to adjust the truss rod and the tremolo. There's a chance the rest of the body will fall off and will keep hanging on the wiring. You could buy it for the parts and buy a new body. Ginger |
