Greetings all, I am getting back into playing after a few years and looking for a fairly cheap start. I was interested in the GAX 70 as well as several other entry level guitars. I thought I had found one in a local store. I played it and really liked it. Then I did a double take as it only had one volume and one tone control. When I asked the store manager he told me it was a GAX 50. What is this? I assumed that it was an even lower low-end guitar, but I haven't geen able to find any info. Does anyone know if there is any other difference between the 70 and the 50. Thanks for your help |

Jeanne: Instead of buying the new GAX50 or 70,TRY a older artist with real mahogany and maple, with the nice necks and tuners and the sound that most of us love. You can get a "plain jane" for $350-450 depending on which model and condition. For my money,ANY late 70's-early 80's simply are better made and better sounding than todays'chain store and mail order guitars. Do a comparison test for yourself and i'm sure you'll agree when all is said and done. Mike G. (THAT'S JUST MY OPINION,I COULD BE WRONG) as Dennis Miller would say |
