Joerg: I fell in love with these guitars when I first saw pictures. But your pictures are much more detailed and fantastic! The AFD25 AM-Z reminds me a lot of the PRS Santana. Why in the world did these not last in the lineup? They bolt necks are simply stunning. Thanks for sharing. |

John: Why, oh why? - same with me: all of them staggering eye catchers, but as far as I could find out, only pretty few of them appeared in Europe (Netherlands, Austria and Germany are documented), probably none in the US and Austalian market (a lawsuit issue?). I'm sure I haven't been comatose back in '88...'90 but I couldn't get a grip or even a glance on one of them - weird! Maybe Jeff can give us a hint? As the true heir of the then disappeared Artist series, imagine a AFD5/25 AM-Z with abalone block inlays, Gibraltar tail piece and Super58/TriSound... just having a vision This seems to be one of the reasons why I remain with Ibanez (and what F***** and G***** haven't got): this unique kind of innovative perfectionism. Back to reality - here's a list of links to some proud (european) owners Marcus: '90 AFD45BG '88 catalog: AFD Series '90 catalog: AFD Series Patrick Sedoc: '88 AFD5 Till next time with best wishes Jörg |
