I keep seeing ebay auctions mentioning this guitar called Ventura. The seller claims these are the same as or at least made in the same factory to the same specs as early 70's Ibanez. does anyone have knowledge of these guitars? Does anyone own one? This is a link to one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=903158597 |

There are some Ventura and Ibanez models that are identical (the Barney Kessel copy and the two-point mandolin copy). To me that says they were made in the same place with the same hands. Maybe not all of the models, but yes some of them. Maybe the website guy has an axe to grind? Who knows... |

Go back and read what he has to say, again. There is no evidence that Fuji Gen Gakki built instruments for Bruno. The Barney and 2-point were probably built for Hoshino by Matsumoku. The only axe he may be grinding is the failure of most westerners to grasp the concept of contract manufacturing. "Ibanez" never built a guitar. Neither did "Ventura". They're just brand names. |
