I just bought an '87 540 S (with the 3 toggle switches) for about $100. It's pretty dinged up and had no trem (I just happened to have an Edge laying around), and I'd like to return it to its former glory. Does anyone know where I can get paint to refinish it- I'd like to get as close to "Atlantic Blue" as possible. Any other painting tips? Thanks, Todd |

Use automotive paint. Basecoat clearcoat paints by PPG work great and dry relatively quickly. DBU basecoats are easy to spray then use PPG's speed clear which is 2042 I believe (Off top of my head) Need proper spraygun and compressor though. |
