Hi, i bought a RG 560 about 4 years ago, wich was in very bad condition. i'm currently trying to soup it up a little. it's bying spraypainted now (cool darkred, headstock also) and i'm shopping for new pickups, cuz as you know, the original V1 & 2 suck. since it's a H-S-S config, i'm thinking of buying a evolution for the bridge position and a seymour duncan hot rail for the neck pos. does this sound like a good choice?

i also have one problem with the guitar: when i pull the bridge forwards, a little "snap" can be heard. i think it's something in the neck, but it could be something else... anyone any idea's?

i'll be shure to post some pics of my baby when she's ready..
thanx!

Hi Renier...

Pickups decisions are best left to the individual so go for whatever you like the sound of..

As to the snap, this is usually found to be in the bridge setup usually the springs releasing tension... If this is not the case it seems as though you may have a loose neck plate screw... maybe tightening these up could fix the problem.

good luck

Hey spiro,

thanx for the reply, i was beginning to think this discussion board was in a coma or something :)

anyway, it could very well be the springs. as i said, it sounds metal-isch. too bad i can't check it now (the guitar has been taken apart for the paintjob), bus i will as soon as i get it back. i never thought about that, i just assumed is was the neck, because you could feel the snap there (ofcourse you could probably feel it everywhere on the guitar, but the neck and the tremolo are the only things you hold when you're playing)

i've checked a lot of website and guitar discussion forums, but i think the above pickups are the best choice for me, so i'll probably go with that. i've tried ordering them at www.jcguitars.com, but haven't had any reply on my emails so far.. bit strange.

i'm also looking for a jackplate, i hate the way the jack isn't attached to the outside of the body, and it keeps loosening up. does anybody have any idea where i could get one for my RG560?

again, thanx for replying. i don't know a lot about assembling and working on guitars, so i'm glad there are some seasoned ibanez lovers out there willing to help!

You might want to check out Rio Grande pickups. They can fix you up with a pickup for any need. Plus, they offer a variety of cover colors.

I have a little cheapo Jackson Dinky that I swapped out the Duncan Design pups for a Vintage Tallboy in the neck, Halfbreed middle, and Texas BBQ humbucker in the bridge. On jam nights, guys will fight over getting to play this guitar mostly because of its tone.

thanx for the reply raceboy,

well, because it's hard for me to find a rio grande dealer in my vicinity, i think i'll stick to the pick-ups i know. the guy from JCguitars got back to me after all. all ibanez lovers should check out his site, lots of parts and gear from the 80ies there.
don't know how the service is, but i'll find out soon i guess.

anyway, i'm still looking for a jack plate to fit an RG. on my rg, the jack isn't attached anywhere on the outside of the body, causing it to loosen up after some time. so i'm looking for some kind of jack plate (like dinky's and other jacksons have). does anybody know where i can get one?

Renier I wouldnt be playing with the jack mount once you get the right Jack on they will stay there forever.. I have never had any problems with the RG jack, in fact I find it to be the best jack available... I actually wish i could install it on all my guitars..

hey spiro,

what would the right jack be?.. the one that's currently in there keeps loosening up causing the wire to disconnect every once in a while. not very pleasant if it happens on stage..
