Anybody know the model number on this one? It is an 83 with gold hardware. AR100T? AR150?

Were you the successful bidder on that guitar? I'd been following it on eBay, but got busy and wasn't around for the close. Durn it. The back's a little rough looking, but all in all, a nice guitar, I'll wager. Best, Michael |

Yes I got the guitar. The back does look kind of worn but the rest appears to be ok, especially the metal parts. They look very good. I'll post some better pictures when it arrives. |

Acetan: I don't see any trem equipped ARs in my '82 or '83-'84 catalogs. I would say it's an AR100 rather than an AR50 because of the gold hardware. The tuners look correct for an '83. However, there's no mention in either catalog of the AR100 being available in black. In '82 the pickups were standard Super 58s. But in the '83 -'84 catalog it says the AR100 had "duo-sound" Super 58s. You switch between single coil and humbucking using push on/push off tone switches. Let us know about the controls on your's. The trem looks like a HardRocker Pro, which would have been available in '83. If it's original, it was probably designated AR150BK. |

AR150BK sounds consistant with the normal Ibanez numbering practices. I went through the catalogs I have and couldn't find anything on this model either. I got it for a pretty decent price probably because most people don't like tremoloes on AR's, but I want it to keep my AM255 company and it will probably be the only AR I'm going to keep as I've decided to sell the other two AR's that I have, they are too heavy for a fifty year old back so I hardly play them. I'm selling my AS100 and my Yamaha SA2000 also for the same reason. I'm looking for AM's though. Anyone care to part with theirs? |
