Hello everybody

I've been into Ibanez for about ten years now, but yesterday I got my first vintage Ibanez: a 1982 Destroyer II in the metallic red finish

The finish is in pretty rough condition, and I'm considering a total refinish. Do you guys think I should do that, or is something like that not done? I don't know if a refinish kills all the collector/sentimental value or not, after all
the new finish would be not original...

PS
I have pics out here (aside from the disaster at the back of the body I didn't take pics of picky details, but there are plenty...):

Hi Anders.

The Destroyer you have there is a DT-50FR. The paint is up to you. I don't see you losing any value by painting it, as the Tuners / Pickups / Knobs are not original. I have one that is beat to hell as well. I let my friends play around with it when they come over. I also have 5 setneck Destroyer's.

Thanks for the info!

If I would make changes it will probably be in the summer, so I've got plenty of time to think things over!
