Just wondering if a RX model neck will fit the newer GRX body. They seem to have the same neck joint (neck plate, 4 bolt), but I'm not sure if the measurements would be right. |

Should be a direct replacement. Can't swear to it in court, though. Cheers Steve |

In that case, do you know where I can get one? |

Hi Guitar2mw, tell me where you are in this crazy world and I will try and point you in the right direction. The policy is that the damaged neck that you have is a straight swap and you won't get the old neck back and it must be fitted by your local Ibanez distributor's service department or a authorised Ibanez repairer assigned by your countries Ibanez distributor. Also to peep's, please don't annoy your local Ibanez distributor for a neck for your home made project. Ibanez necks are for Ibanez guitars only......I hope you will all understand this policy. I was actually hoping to just find a used one. The one that I have is fine, but I was just looking for something a little thinner with the same neck joint as my present neck (haven't found an RG model that will work). I know all about Ibanez's policy with replacing necks (which I think is complete bullshit, but that's just my opinion). Just wondering if anyone had one to sell. |

I know policies can suck sometimes, but it's designed to stop gross acts of buffoonerism by loosers, who what to attempt to fit Ibanez necks to bodgie home made shitbox project guitars etc and say look at my custom Ibanez..... I suffer these phone calls nearly everyday, and after all these years I'm ready to hunt down these weeners with my KryptonPlasma rifle ! RX to GRX is a straight fit for a neck, but the heel on a RG is different to the RX, but if you happen to find a S/Hand neck, be nice to your local guitar luthier and he may be able to re-shape it to fit. All jokes aside, this is why Ibanez have guidelines that distributors have to follow. Captain Ibanez |
