Hi i have a JS100, fitted with lo-trs. I've fitted new strings, stretch them, have played with them for 1-2 months now. but the strings will still goes out of tuned whenever i pull up the whammy. And when i pull the whammy back down, it will be back in tuned. Why? Any ideas? |

Hi hamet, I have an RG an had that problem. What I do now is I roughly tune the guitar, than adjust the tremolo unit so that it is parallel to the body. Once this is done, tune the third and fourth strings. Tune the fifth string to the fourth, then check that the three strings are in tune. Now tune the second string to the third string, check that the 4 strings are in tune then continue in this pattern. Once this is done, all the strings should be tuned and stay tuned after tremolo use. If the tremolo angle changes after the tuning then repeat all the above. It takes me a couple of times to get the tremolo unit parallel with the body and keep the strings in tune. It sounds tedious and it is but once performed, it should stay tuned until the strings are changed again. It's a primitive method but it's better than having an unplayable guitar. |

Alright, well for one, I would highly recommend you change your electric guitars strings every three weeks or if no other options maybe 4. The reason for this is that your strings get older and with age comes dirt and gunk which not only dulls your strings but also makes them go out of tune. The next tip I have is to remember when you are tuning your guitar at the top (the tuning machines) you can not tune down to a pitch. Rather you must tune up to it. Meaning you cannot go from and E# to an E. If this occurs, stretch the string. The reasoning behind this is because your strings get caught in the nut, so stretching it will free it up. Try it some day. Those are the big tuning solutions. If you have anymore questions make sure you post them |
