I'm looking for a guitar to use in live situations (I'm currently using a 60s reissue strat, but I need something with more balls and a flatter radius). I randomly picked up a JS1000? at a music store last night. The sound and playability of the guitar was impressive, but I don't really need a locking tremolo. Can anyone share some information and opinions about the non-tremolo Satriani models (JS700, JS6?).

I have a JS700 and I play mostly Blues and Jazz on it. It has a really warm tone to it (due to the P90 pickups and the mahogany body & neck). Also, it's an easy playing guitar, like most Ibanez guitars. It also feels a lot more solid then a lot of other guitars I've tried and owned. I'm also looking fora JS6. I assume the tone would be different due to the difference in the pickups.
