Ebay Item #250166360933 My guess is no (at least not $400) but then again, I know nothing about vintage Ibby effects. What do they go for these days? (Heck, I might as well keep my eyes peeled in Craigslist if any bargains crop up.) -Chuck |

I've never heard anyone talking about a "very rare pre TS808 Ibanez Overdrive II" pedal before. What's the scoop? |

Neither did I Johns, but there's a tool for such things: Googly, googly... Tata...! http://www.analogman.com/tshist.htm Hmmm... interesting! Ginger |

I've never owned one. You do see them for sale, but not often. I think there may be an orange TS808-related pedal too. mk |

So can I assume that the "spaghetti" Ibanez logo is an indication of rarity/value for old effects? I'm willing to keep my eyes peeled on Craigslist if I can score a $400 pedal for, say, $50. -Chuck |

these are worth that i have both they are precursors to the ts808 the orange is harder to find usually around 250 -350 sometimes higher i like them a lot however they run on batteries only no 9v adaptors (these early models) the later early 80's have an adaptor for a plug they sound very 70's distortion not very transparent like everything ibanez andvintage they are going up in price |

I was gonna say, if the buyer thought he was getting an early vesrion of the TS-808 then he has a surprise coming. Tip. Run your pedals on regular 9v batteries and not the alkaline versions. They sound better. six |

yes that is the rare orange OD-850 i have a mint one it sounds nothing like the TS-808 much more thick and heavy sounding sustain the green one overdrive II is OD-855 also very heavy 70's distortion not like SRV's ts-808 that everyone seems to want both are hard to find and command good prices usually min 250.00 so anything under that is a good price. ( i used to call the orange one the Holy grail of ibby pedals after owning it for awhile i dont use it that much and definitely over rated not really a holy grail in terms of sound just rarity but they do pop up occasionally and are kinda neat. |

My experience is that no two OD pedals sound the same, even if they are the same model with the same chips, etc. It's very frustrating. I have a friend who has a beat up vintage TS9 with an AnalogMan mod. It has the creamiest, warmest sound. With all the OD pedals I have, including the same exact pedal with the same exact mod, none sound like my friend's pedal, and he won't part with his. mk |
