Hi guys. I'm posting this question even though I it's not about Ibanez effects, I'm hoping one of you old geezers might have seen one of these in your days. I bought a handful of pedals from a shop in town, some bosses, couple of d.o.d.s,an ibanez, and a Westbury distortion pedal. I've never heard of Westbury and I'm hoping one of you have. This thing looks old. It's kinda like a Boss in construction, cast metal with a couple of knobs at the top. On the back are the numbers 1267 and made in japan. This thing sounds like a boss ds1 to me. Could Westbury just be a Boss relabled? Also, is 1267 the manufactured date? It's really beat and really could be 30 years old. ~FLY~ |

I have a Westbury guitar (very much like an Artist with German carve top), imported from Matsumuko by a company in Westbury NY, I believe. They later became (or were absorbed by) Korg. Is the logo a nice script that goes up on an angle? |

Hi John. Yes that sounds like the logo on the pedal. I check Harmony Central and there was 1 review on Westbury pedals, but a different model. The guy goes on to say that his is the only Westbury he's ever seen and it was actually the predecessor to the Ibanez TS9 pedal. Apparently Westbury was 1 of the first to use a 12AX7 tube back in the early 80's. Hmmm. I better open this thing up and look for a tube now.... ~FLY~ |

Here's some pics os the Westbury pedal. It's an OS-2 Overdrive. As I mentioned it sounds like a boss DS1. I looked inside, no tube, but still this seems to be a pretty rare find. As you can see it's pretty worn, but still works. That's what counts. If anyone's ever heard of Westbury let me know. ~FLY~
