Hey there... I'm not huge on the Soundtanks, but they're so affordable (buying used, of course) that I can't pass them up. My band (Them Trucks, modern surf rock) requires use of wahs and auto filters on a regular basis; it gives me the opprotunity to compare all of their "auto wahs" - AF201, AF9, AFL, AW5. At our last gig at the Trocadero Balcony in Philly, I brought the AF5 as an experiment; my good friend Mark L. was in the audience and after the show said that it had the tone of steel drums. I didn't think it was too bad either (and I don't say this because I collect only Ibanez). It wasn't the greatest, but if you can score one for $25 or so, it's worth it. It's nowhere near the old AF units, but it does it own thing well. Don't forget - TRIM POTS ON THE CIRCUIT BOARD! So you can tweak it (and be careful - write down the factory settings first). pedal on, Mark Simpson, The Pusherman http://pusherman.homestead.com/ibanez.html |

I have an old 808 style auto wah, I believe its the AF201. copperish colored box with square FET switch. Its pretty cool, but you need to be careful setting the switches or it can make some horrendous amp destroying noises |
