The perfectly fine original trem was replaced with a hack job. Super 58's gone too. Check out the label: did it originally say AM225? Ebay Item #290131868876 mk |

The label appears to say 255 and the back cover suggests same. Figure an AM255 would conservatively worth around $1,000, let see how much the owner's "creativity" would cost him. If there are bids, that is. |

I'm pretty sure it didn't say 255. I think it was a typo that someone fixed by hand. mk |

Wow! And they did such a fine job installing that locking nut... what a hack whack-job. I can't see the purpose behind putting a Floyd on an otherwise exceptionally nice looking guitar. Shame about the pickups too. Something definately looks goofy with the model #... was there a 225 model every made? I didn't think the 255 came with a pickguard either. I've had my eye out for a 255 for awhile, this was a bit of a let down. It will be interesting to see what this goes for with those "premium upgrades". |

Guys, relax. Those stamps were done by hand, probably with a thumbwheel adjustable stamp like you use for dating documents. Whoever stamped this one made a mistake and then fixed it. Except for the hack job on the nut scews, this doesn't look bad to me. If the AM255 had been built in 1986 it probably would have had an Edge on it just like the '86 AR350. That "perfectly fine original trem" (HardrockerPro) has been the source of much complaining by some owners. I think the choice of a Floyd for replacement is due to the distance between the studs. You may be right Bear but as I said, "...let see how much the owner's "creativity" would cost him." Then we'll know. |

Ace, Notice I made no mention of value or cost or anything else related to the almighty dollar? I'm looking at it from a player's viewpoint. I have no interest in collector value. The Bear |

To each his own but.... this axe shouldn't have any whammy bars on it at all. Ever. Guitar just don't look right to me. IMHO. IMSO. Just an opinion. |

What's up with the pickguard & master volume? Is this another "premium upgrade," or what? Makes me wonder how they put it in, and WHAT IN GOD'S NAME is that pickguard covering up? Did anyone else notice the re-sprayed headstock? Looks like they carefully avoided painting over the serial number (kudos for that, at least) but the finish is not a match. Hmmmmm, maybe a snapped headstock under there? Scarey man, reaaaaaal scary. And it's going through one of those drop-off "I Sold It" auction houses. No direct comunication possible with the seller. No additional info or pic's available... "Yikes" |

Bob, I agree, guitars shouldn't have single coil pickups either. The Bear |
