Last week there was this Artstar AL100JR (Jewel Red) WITH ORIGINAL HARD SHELL CASE for sale in Rotterdam for 500 and then for 495 euros. You'd say AL100, never heard of, but they exist. The Captain mentioned them, there are a few white ones in the Ibanez Register, but that's it. Now, what's an AL100? Well, it's actually more or less a thinline Superstrat. With one humbucker (V1) in the bridge and an S1 single coil in the neck. What kind of sound may we expect from such an axe? I guess not too jazzy. I'm more a Super '58 guy, so I was thinking what to do with this one. Suddenly it was gone. Not even traceable in the Google cache. SHOOT! I wanted at least a copy of the picture for ICW, and then it was gone... But surprize! Today I found it relisted by the new owner Kampman from Apeldoorn for 650 euros. So, he bought it just to make a fast buck and doesn't talk about the case. Thanks, but no thanks... So I tried to copy the picture... PROTECTED! As intellectual property! He didn't even make that picture! Now, that's a way to get me ! PROTECTED? M.A.! BTW: the list price of this axe was 1495 Dutch guilders in 1988 and 1595 guilders in 1989 (I have both original price lists), that's about 681 euros NEW in 1988. Ginger |

And here's the whole picture of the guitar from another advertisement site. No protection this time. Ginger |
