How common or uncommon are these beauties? I haven't seen much talk about the 700's around here.A fine example is for sale on SF Craig's List. Has a repo pick-guard. Seller states that it's a Tamura build and signed by the man. Solid carved spruce top. Has an ebony Benedetto style tail piece installed but includes the original. No affiliation with the seller. He want's $2100 |

http://www.fordforums.com.au/guitar/searchguitar2. php Type FA in this search form, and see what you get: only FA100 guitars. So the higher types are NOT common. But that goes for all of the carved solid top jazz boxes. They are the best pieces of lutherie any guitar company makes. That goes for Gibson, with their L-5, Super 400, Le Grand and Citation, but also for the Japanese guitar companies. It's the best you can get. Just check old price lists, and compare the price of these babies with the price of a "korina" Destroyer. And then look what they ask/pay for these planks now. If I felt it necessary to spend 2K, I'd prefer an instrument that was top of the bill when it was still in production. Ginger |

Just FYI if you're thinking about bidding. That's my old guitar and is a wonderful instrument. Feel free to ask questions at pgrey@earthlink.net. Peter |
