It's a late 1981. I guess the transition from V2's to 58's happened earlier that year. mk |

The person said it is all original, however... The volume and tone knobs are not original to the AS50 (unless this is an abnormal issue) Why hide the serial number in all the pictures? Stacey |

Hiding the S/N might be an attempt to combat false claims of ownership. |

Anything's possible, however, I wouldn't look at the negative side. Lots of people, including ICW members, just don't want other people knowing the complete serial number of guitars they own. It's a privacy thing. When it comes to buying a vintage Ibanez guitar, only the first 3 characters are important. mk |

Stacey, the 1982 catalogue with the same AS50 shows Super 58's combined with Super Grip (1) potmeterknobs. This guitar is from NOVEMBER 1981 and is fully conform the specs of the 1982 catalogue. Ebay Item #260146732191 The guitar SEEMS to be FULLY ORIGINAL and MINT, just the OHSC seems to have some damage, and he is honest about that: "The case has lost a latch and has some seam separation as well - it holds the guitar and functions fine but it is not perfect." I wouldn't mind repairing the case. Latches are about $1.50-3.00 ... a little Titebond... no big deal really... Ginger |
