Yeah me Mike. It's the same construction more or less as the 2629. So that will be birch ply however this guitar will have Super 70's and of course the floating tail. Artist neck is a little fatter too.

It is on the 1977 pricelist of Jim Donahue.
http://www.noahjames.com/vintagepage/PRICE.HTML
It was 435 dollars.
It was 15 dollars less expensive than the 2630.
The 2629 is not in the list of 1977.

Sound? Don't know. I guess it has Super 70's.

I assume it's the same size. What about weight?

Weight will be lighter than a 2630 Mike. I found my 2630 too heavy for live work so that's why I let it go. My 2629 is much easier on the shoulder so I reckon the 2454 will be about the same. In fact I'd hazard a guess that the 2454, 2457 and 2467 are all roughly the same weight.

I'm surprised nobody jumped on that one...

That's a beatiful guitar. 1,199 looked like a fair price for a vintage guitar like this one.

He sold it locally for $900. I saw it on Craigslist and called, but I'm on vacation and couldn't get there in time.

I currently own one of these 2454 models, they are the lightest guitar you can imagine, and surprisingly they sound excellent, acoustically and plugged in, I bailed on a 2630 and a 2355, but this axe fits for my hollow body sound, if you see one grab it, jazzz

I bought this guitar. I was just researching it and found this board and topic! What a cool board!

I got it for under $800.00 It had a few issues that were not described in the add. There was a 1/4 inch chip out of the front top that went down to the wood. The binding on the fretboard near the 12th fret, about 3 inches, had been replaced / repaired. It was a quality repair but the binding was a bit thinner and browner. Also the frets were quite worn. It needs a fret job. There are a few minor dings in the back of the neck too. The switch needs replacement too.

Did have the super 70 pick ups. I didn't think the case was original and now I think it may be after looking at some other ebay adds.

I'll try recrowning the frets but I don't think there is enough there.... All in all a good guitar that has been used for the past 30 years! I got it so my 1978 Ibanez ES175 copy, and my PF300 would have another friend.

Can I post pictures here? It's great to find other Ibanez fans.

Hey John, my 2454 has numerous bumps and grinds, dings, nics etc etc, it has definately been a player and thats fine for me, I hate playing out etc with exceptional clean guitars, mine, seems to be all original and stock, with no repairs that I can see, the pickup covers are quite worn and yes they are Super 70s, stock star type tuning machines, that may need to be replaced, no case, btw mine is a 1976! these sound incredible as I think you will soon find out, keep rockin, jazzz

Hi everyone!

I'll take some pics of my Ibanez's and post them soon. The band I'm in now I'm stuck playing a strat, not that I'm complaining too much. I go for the Strat / Princeton Reverb sound and it works. The other guitar player has a Gretch with humbuckers and two humbucking guitars just sounds a bit muddy for our material.

The first guitar I owned, I think it was 1979 or 1980, was a PF200 Z I sold it about fifteen years ago and I still regret it. I do still have my FA100 NT that I bought when I was in high school, in about 1982. She is a beauty in every way. I picked up an AS120 a few years ago and love that one too.

I did good on the price for the 2454 right? Even with a few issues...

So pictures later... :-)

PS: I have too many guitars...
