I guess this BM version is only for Japanese and US market. Here it is on ibanez.co.jp with more info in English. http://www.ibanez.co.jp/japan/products/eg/page/AS1 03BM_NT.html This and the AMB version were discussed at http://www.ibanezcollectors.com/discus/messages/16 /1001888.html?1188483246 Juha |

German: i cannot read japanese, but the prices on the limited ed. are around $700 US Dollars, which is about what they sell for new over here. I like those limited editions; think they look very cool. Though, I don't know much about the tone of burl or spalt. |

Hi! I am a Japanese Ibanez semi-hollow body fan and have a Korean made AS120 and a chinese made new AS103SM which has spalted maple finish. Of cource I can read Japanese well! So, if you have any Japanese reading problem, please let me know. My AS103SM is quite brilliant, but the details will be posted later. |

Hi! Rickd, Fujigen is a famous Japanese legacy guitar factory as same as Matsumoku. Their factories are settled at the highland area in central Japan, where is suitable for guitar crafting as cool and dry climate. My first guitar was a Greco brand SE600,1975 Matsumoku made (Fender strat copy), this is now called a Japanese Vintage for their incredible polite making. They produced a lot of guitars as OEMs. But now, I found a Fujigen direct-management shop at Shibuya Tokyo. http://www.fujigen.co.jp/ and their history is http://www.fujigen.co.jp/history/default.asp Unfortunately, their web site is now written in Japanese only, so if you are interested in their shop, you can ask the shop directly via email. Wombat: thanks man! They won't ship to the US, but some of their dealers will. So I might go that route. Currently I'm holding out for a 90s AS200 though. I'm going to keep my eye out for one of those. Thanks again, Rick |

hey Wombat---does Fujigen make an ES-335 copy that's the size of a 335? I haven't been able to find anything other than a smaller body 336-like copy. |

Hi! Rickd, I have no idea for Fujigen ES335, but the other company named Tokai has a series of semi-hollow guitars similar to ES-335, which are true Japan made. http://www1.odn.ne.jp/tokaigakki/products/vintage/top/vintagetop.html ES series may be a full copy of ES-335. Anyway, this room is for Ibanez guitar, so I'll show you my sweet AS103SM. wombat |

Wombat, you have a beauty there. How is she as a player? You can see mine almost at the end of http://www.ibanezcollectors.com/discus/messages/16 /14771.html?1184876789 She does not have that shade of red live but the same colour as yours. Something wrong with my cheap digicam or my skills using it? Juha |

wombat, thanks for the link i understand this is for Ibanez guitars, but i don't see anything wrong with exploring other manufacturer's products as long as it doesn't become the main focus anyway, thanks |

Thanks Talajuha, My AS103SM has pretty good tone, especially no distortion play. I enjoyed it to play slow blues. My favolite is "Since I've been loving you" by Led Zep. Your AS103SM is very good, so after checking your guitar photos in your link, I decided to buy AS103SM. Fourtunately, she was selling at a Japanese auctions site, so I've got her relatively cheep price. wombat |

New AS103 colour/finish popped up on the net. We have to be more accurate with the colours/finishes. SM is actually SM-NT and there are two BMs now BM-NT and BM-ABR, ABR in the pic Juha |

I play my AS103NT (the blonde finish) every day now. I love it. What a great guitar. I love the neck. The construction is fantastic. It came to me with some "retrotron" pickups (not even Guild ones) instead of its original 58's, but I've got a pair of Super 70's (out of a Greco LP) that I'm going to put shiny new gold covers on and then put in my 103. -Chuck |
