I bought a 2630 that has no pick guard. Sadly, it doesn't match my AS100 or AS200 pick guard. My luthier can make one, but I need a template and a decent photo to make it match. Does anyone have a 2630 with an original pick guard that would be kind enough to trace it for me? Thanks! |

Is it the same as a 79-80 AS200/AS400 with tortoise shell and multi-layerred binding? I have an AS400 with correct pickguard and need one for my AS200. I could send a tracing and maybe he can make 2 !! |

Not entirely sure, but I think the AS200 and the AS400 is a little different than the 2630. Just by looking at it, the 2630 pick guard looks more like the pickguard on the AS50. My AS100 and my AS180 have the same shape guard. It looks like the 2630 is (was) a bound tortise shell guard. It's a little flatter on the top edge than the AS series. Anybody?? |

If you look at the top line of the guard, the line is straight on the 2630 but the AS100 has a little ogee type swoop to it. I took the guard off of my AS100 and it didn't fit well at all on the 2630. The pickup mounts are smaller on the 2630 and the overall width seems too narrow. In a pinch, I think I could use the AS100 guard and modify it a little, but I'd really like to have the tracing. I wonder if Paul Gilbert would respond if I sent him an email. Anyone have his email address? |
