Saw this one on Ebay today...noticed it doesn't have the "Benson" inlay near the last frets. Something also about the look of the other inlays that doesn't look right to me (or maybe it's a bad pic). Ebay Item #290168947588 |

My old eyes say it is genuine, compared to picture from ibanez.com Somebody will tell since when there has not been "George Benson" inlay on the fretboard. Juha |

Serial number: F0316817 means: Fuji Gen Gakki 2003 Production number: 16817. So, it remained unused for 4 years. That's NOS. But I have seen F06xxxxx stickers on fake JEM guitars too, so I don't dare to say whether "NEW" or "NOS" Ibanez guitars are genuine any more. An vintage one is much safer, IMO. Or buy from a registered Ibanez dealer. Ginger |

Looks legit to me also. The George Benson inlay was discontinued in the early 80's. My '97 GB10 does not have the GB name in the inlay, but my '79 does. Also, the back of the headstock only has the serial number and 'made in Japan' info. In the last few years (post 2003?) they added the large 'J-Craft' name on the back of the headstock. So maybe it is NOS from 2003 as indicated. The seller has pretty good feedback too. Does anyone know what NEW '07 GB10's are selling for lately? |

Thanks, Petruz. Does anyone have the year that the signature inlay was discontinued on the GB10? As late as 1988 the GB30 still had the inlay also. Hmmm. (I think it was a huge mistake for Ibanez to delete that added cosmetic feature!) |

A GB10 without the inlay was first shown in the -93 catalogue. It's not obvious but I think the difference is there. I agree, they should not have removed it! http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/us/1992/gb.jpg http://www.ibanezrules.com/catalogs/us/1993/gb.jpg /Bjorn |
