Nice looking guitar. I wonder how it compares the the Epiphone Elitist or the real McCoy? Wouldn't it be great if Ibanez returned to some of their great copies? |

If Epiphone had an Elitist like that, I'd buy it today, but their archtops all have routed pickups. That's a totally different animal. That Ibanez is nice, but I'll wait for a blonde FA800 or 2471... |

I've been watching that one for a few days now. I'm not buying right now but I'd like to see it hit 2k. I feel like I'm watching a stock price. |

3-1/4" deep... The Gibson Byrdland was 2-1/4" deep and it was not a floating pickup guitar. The FA-510 is more like a Johnny Smith model, which was 3-3/8" (difference 1/8" instead of 1", so closer). It's just that tailpiece, but we saw these on all kinds of guitars from Korea too... So if you're thinking about an Epi equivalent, that would be an Emperor Regent, which looks like this, with its fequensator tailpiece: http://www.peterverspuy.nl/cgi-bin/x/20360.html BTW: this is NOT an Elitist. Interesting... What does this mean for the 2461 Johnny Smith lawsuit model? And for the 2460 L-5 lawsuit model? (Top price until now $2600.-) Ginger |

The bad news is, everyone will now think they can get prices in that range for their Ibanez Jazz boxes, the good news is, hopefully, we will see some opportunists try to sell some guitars that they were previously hoarding. Hopefully, we will see some of those FA800's come up on ebay, or even the ICW Chris |

if you go to the bidding history, you can see bids from user names like 0***8, p***j, a***n etc.. I think those user names look a little shady. Anyone else notice this? I've seen several other auctions with those kind of user names lately. There's very little info on those user names also.... Could it be that this is fraud (to jack the prices up, I mean)? |

okay, I think I understand. "member-specific information is not displayed in the bid history". I just found it really unlikely for the price to go so high. Wonder what a blonde FA800 would go for...? |

Aroee... my opinion, FA800 Sunburst 1800-2200 depending on condition, add 300-500 for Blonde. Based on this auction it should 4k. |

Aroee, I just analysed the bids on the AS100, which were really fishy. And I see the same kind of trick was played here. That was the reason that jpieksen's bid was triggered 4 times. FOUR times someone tested with a higher bid, if there was a bid above from $3000.- by placing a higher bid, and then retracting that bid, in order to know what shill bid was needed to activate jpieksen's maximum, because that he wanted that guitar was already obvious. I got the impression that several identities are used to place shill bids in early stages and then a final touch by placing a ridiculously high bid and retract it after you saw the highest hidden bid. And then place a bid that is $25.- or $50.- beneath that highest bid that you saw. I'm convinced that these two auctions were NOT fair. And I agree with Sgjazz that 3000+ is NOT a normal and fair price for this guitar. We are being manipulated with the help of the eBay policy that you can place bids and you may retract them, after bids of competitors have been revealed only to you as the highest bidder. (That's how Harry knew he had to bid 3,500 on the 2408 Dragon... he made a typo of 28,000 instead of 2,800... saw a bid of 3,400 and knew what was needed to get it). I actually wanted this method to stay a secret, because Harry accidentally discovered that it worked that way. But now it seems that sellers are using it against us collectors to rip us off. So, my advice: do NOT place hidden bids any more! But wait patiently and hit the button in the last few seconds. Ginger |

If this is a 2471, I think it could be even better! Ebay Item #170162257783 I'd like to see the label, but it's not shown in the pics... Ginger |

This guitar is still up, and at 3K still. What model is this exactly? I wouldn't mind some company for my FA100 but 3 grand.... |

that's a model 2471nt and even if it's one of the nicest vintage Ibanez guitars, the price is kind of high... I did email the seller and he was willing to accept $2750. |
