check it out! Nice 1979 on Ebay. I already own a '78, and one is enough, so I am passing on this one. I love the way these guitars play! |

Holy crap! That 2630 looks exactly like my '79 except the EBayer looks like it has a half brass/bone nut. Mine is solid bone (or plastic). Have you guys seen different nut material or brass on other '77 - '79 2630's? |

I would not mind paying up to $1,200. I guess anything between $1,000 to $1,200 would not be unreasonable. |

Thanks Ace. Another question. Are the AS200's any better, worse, identical, have better or similar resale etc from around the same period, i.e. early 80's. |

If I were to compare a 2630 and an early AS200 in a totally objective fashion, I would say the two are equal in terms of quality of material used and workmanship. Some examples of both models did not come with the more desirable pearloid knobbed machine-heads which affects their collectors value. I like the Super58's more than the Super80's but they don't have the cool flying fingers cover. The "straight-sloted" tail-piece on 2630's are not as strong as the later "angled slots" tail-pieces. The slightly different shape of the upper bout is a personal preference. As I said, they are about equal. Last but very important though, the 2630's, being older, will always have more appeal in general. My advice? Get one of each. |

Another question Ace. I have an 82 AS200, only had it a few days now. The toggle switch (black one) I assume is for switching the pickup phasing. I have never had one of these on a guitar before. The problem is I cant hear any changes in sound no matter what position its in. The pickup selector switch works just fine. The black toggle switch is very smooth and precise and feels right. Just cant hear any change in sound. Are the changes distinct or are they barely noticeable. Might have to get Spiro to take a sledgehammer to it if its faulty. |

The little black toggle switch is the Tri-sound switch for the front pickup and the difference is very noticable. You may have a loose wire. |

Wow, that newly listed 2630 looks almost exactly like my '79, right down to the missing pg. By the way, how do you put a pic with a mssg? Thx |
