Ebay Item #180183973187

I'm still shaking. This is listed as local pickup only, but the seller says in the description that she'll ship. I was ready to go up to $1,200, but the last bidder in it against me dropped off at about $800. Wow. The seller said (via email) that she's selling it for her parents, so I'm hoping it's a single-owner guitar. I'll let you know.

Is this really 2630? In 1979 catalog it is AS200. What are the possible differences?

talajuha, i didn't get the point. the one above is a 2630, the one in the link is an AS200... completely different instruments (overall shape, knobs, bridge, stop tailiece).

Yeah, this is a 2630 based on size, details, etc. Here are side-by-side photos for comparison:

Oh, should have taken a better look at them ...
I didn't know they were produced at the same time, in 1979. I have been looking at a 1979 AS200. The seller told about repaired neck but never sent pics of it (the neck) and didn't tell more of it. He added my model info to his ad. He knew it is Ibanez but not more. Something fishy ...?

P.S. I hope Petruz is not too confused.

I just heard from the seller that her father is the original owner of this guitar, that it saw action in country bands early in its life, but has been cased for the last 15 years or so. Here's a closer look at the front. Some heavy corrosion on the gold plating, for sure, and I wonder if the pick guard is a replacement, since it doesn't have the border/binding.

This baby just arrived today and I've gone over her with a fine tooth comb. She's absolutely stunning. No major dings at all, not even on the headstock. A few tiny ones here and there, and the requisite tarnishing of the cloud/tail/bridge. As noted elsewhere, the binding has fallen off around the pickguard, except between the pups. All original, stunning flame, the gold plating on the pups is about 95% and smooth. It has electronic challenges, so it will need a good going through by my tech. At one time it was set up with 10 gage strings and while I have a set of 9's on it right now, when I have it set up I'll restore its 10's. This is one of my "holy grail" guitars, as I've also said about a thousand times. I used to own this model and have dedicated this past year to raising the cash to buy one. I got an absolute steal on this one-owner closet classic. The guy played in a country band, and the frets up to about the 7th fret have wear, the rest are pristine.
