Spent my lunch hour at a local music store (as I often do). A coworker and I wee going to test-drive Epiphone semi-hollows since we'd heard good things about the new Epi's, and he really likes hollow and semi-hollow guitars. The Es335 studio was junky, so I picked up an Ibanez AF75 with orange finish and said, "Play this one". My coworker immediately told me that it was like night and day. He thought he was playing a very expensive guitar. We eventually plugged in and took turns on this beauty. I'm impressed. It appears that "made in China" has no impact on Ibanez quality, plus you're getting more guitar for your dollar. This is a guitar that discounts at $329 U.S. or less. Great guitar. No, I didn't buy it, but I haven't stopped thinking about it. You know what that means... Gonna visit another music store today and try out an AS83. I don't own an Ibanez that's not solid, but that might have to change... |

Buy it! Don't even think twice about it. I mean, really, it's so inexpensive. I've got the AK85, and I have to say I am one happy camper. It's a bit more expensive, I think they are in the $420 range, but you get a lot of guitar. I would love to be able to afford a fancy, custom hollowbody, but that isn't gonna happen any time soon. Until then, I'm happy with my budget hollow. I did a pup swap, traded out the HB's for some P-90's. Good trade! Go back and get it....you'll be glad if you do! Droo |

OK, I compared this guitar with an AS73 and another Ibanez I couldn't identify - looked like an AK85 with a bigsby. The AF75 won hands down. Better unplugged sound, and plugged into a JCM2000 at full gain...man, Billy Gibbons all the way. This guitar just sounds like it's been hangin' around a few bars and pool halls!! And since I know the guitar manager, I can get a smoking deal. Aargh...GAS. Amazingly, I still didn't buy it. At least not yet. |

My $.02. No two guitars are alike even of the same model. If you find one that is exceptional, grab it. The next one may not even come close. Ace |

I've played two now that were consistently good - I'd be hard-pressed to tell them apart. They both had great tone, and whatever it is that just makes you not want to put it down (vibe?). The only real factor left is the price. A happy update...my wife convinced me to buy the guitar. It'll be in my hands in an hour from now. Ibanez number 7 for me. That's a lucky number. |

Well, guys, here it is. I gotta admit, from a Roadstar lover, this guitar is just a riot to play. Such a different animal. I'm sure it'll never be my main guitar, but it's a lot of fun. |
