I have found a ibanez am-205, what do you think will be a reasonable price for it? It is in very good condition and it still has it`s orginal case.
Is this "the holy grail" as many of you Ibanez collectors says it is? I have not seen this kind of Ibanez too often.I want it to be nice to play on and have a good sound, I think that it`s made of some kind of mahogany. The pickups are gold cover humbuckers and the fingerboard looks like maybe ebenholtz. Please give me some advice.

In the U.S., I have seen all original AM205's with HSC go for anywhere between $850 to $1,400. Around where you are? I really have no clue. Lots of help huh! Sorry.

Bjorn, the AM-205AV is certainly my personal Holy Grail, but it may not be everybody else's.

If you want my advice: buy it! I've no idea what it's worth, the price of vintage Ibanez guitars is beginning to escalate at an alarming rate. I think you'll be very happy with the guitar, they have the looks and they have the sound. You couldn't ask for more.

Have a look at this beauty:

http://www.ibanez87.it/english/other-ibanezs/am205av-paolo.aspx

Now if that doesn't get your heart-rate going, there's something seriously wrong! :-)

Holy Grail? It really depends on what you are looking for in a guitar. I haven't seen one on eBay for a long, long time. Seems like 8 months. I imagine there will be a feeding frenzy when one shows up. AM200s are going for around $100US, I imagine a nice Am205 would go for a few hundred more today.

I'm still looking for an AM400, white or orange, ...and eagerly waiting for Ibaez to make a through-neck AM205. Yeah right, good luck.

I would say if you can get it for $1200US or less, and it is in good shape, go for it, because you will safely be able to sell it if it's not what you were looking for.

Ace,

By orange, do you mean Cherryburst?

The AM73 seems to be selling, and they are not bad. I tried one a while ago. I'm hoping for an AM105 or AM195.

Sven, look what you've started. $1,475 with 15 hours left. Go, AM go.

I don't think it was me. I may have helped things along a little, but there has been an AM vacuum for a while.

BTW ace, Have you checked http://walkin.co.jp/ for that CST AM400? I have seen 2 of them there, and I think the price was reasonable - like $700 after conversion. It might be worth watching their inventory, or contacting them.

Uhh, I wonder what will be price in the next 5 days?
Hmm..maybe around 1,300
However, I found some odd thing on that ibanez. The sticker inside the hollow is pretty much different from any other guitars that I've seen.

I meant for the artist AM series. Mine (AM 255)doesn't have "artist semi acoustic" written in it.
Oh well, maybe is just one of the Ibanez misterious ingredients

Ace,
Cool collection, I wonder if you can sing all of them?
Btw, My AM label has the excact label as yours. That's why when I look at on your AS and the AM on the ebay I was surprised.
Again, ibanez guitar is misterius

That's one of the things that makes them interesting. It happens every time, just when you think you've got it all figured out, they throw you a curve ball.

In fact, it is getting a little out of hand and I'm trying to sell a few of them before I move to a new house next spring.

The red one is a Lonestar LE420 I just got from a private seller in Germany. Very attractive guitar.
