Ebay Item #180100606760
I think it's a 2454.
I think the value is about the same as the value of a 2355m. They were about the same list price.
http://www.break-even.org/ibanez/1976/price.htm

So, I guess the real value lies between $950-$1350. It's not in Russelw's database:

Model No. Description Year Price Condition
2629 ES335 1977 730 9
2629 ES335 1978 810 9
2358 ES335 1970 465 8
2358 ES335 197x 355 8
2370 ES335 1972 312 8
2370 ES335 1983 765 9
2390 ES335 197x 415 8
2390 ES335 1977 1199 9
2397 ES335 1973 305 7
2457 ES335 w/trem 1976 394 7
2457 ES335 w/trem 1975 280 8
2467 ES335 Varitone 1977 1125 9
2467 ES335 1977 720 7
2467 ES335 Varitone 1977 821 8

Warning:
It's not up-to-date.
The price for the 2454 in the Argus list: 970 euros (but I merely use this list to get an idea of what model number it could be, the mentioned estimates are not in all cases reliable, and this is an understatement). But in this case $1295.73 seems a reasonable estimate.

isn't that headstock shape strange?!? seems too narrow, neither a lawsuit/castle/tulip one.
btw, did ibanez ever offer an epiphone casino-like (completely hollow thinline) guitar?

Yep, the Ibanez 2454, the 2370 the 2395 are completely hollow thinlines, but they have all humbuckers instead of the metal covered P90 style pickups like the Casino has.

Ginger:
I never saw this model in this configuration. Itīs close to the 2454, but the one in the auction has split parralelogram fretboard inlays and according to the catalogue pictures (and the one in my collection) the 2454 has only blocks.
The models wich had split parralelogram inlays were the 2370 (but if this was a customised 2370 there would have been traces of the 3 way rotary switch), the 2467 (ditto), the 2390 (but this model had a separate control plate and came in walnut finish) and the 2467 WN (also: what happened to the 6-way rotary switch and this one came in walnut finish too).
The stop tailpiece on the guitar in the auction could be a replacement for the eventualy original trapezoid tailpiece, but it must have been quite difficult to give the studs sufficient support and fundament, since the 2454 is completely hollow and has no central sustain block. Where to put the studs in? Only a good luthier could have done such a job by creating a solid wood fundament in the body first.
Hmmm...what were they doing in Japan, back in the seventies?

Kind greetz,
Harry

Petruz, the headstock is not much different from the 2355m. These first Guild tulip shaped ones weren't that wide.

Here is the ES-335 headstock:

Can you believe that a minty one of 1975 (open book headstock) with pickguard and OHSC just did only US $790.-?

It must have been that cheap yellow and green Isoldit supermarket presentation. It was if they were selling veggies. Just very tasteless.
