To hold me over 'til I find a nice AM, I've ordered the Artcore AM73. In the meantime, I found that Greenfield makes a very nice looing AM like guitar with a 14" lower bout. I've seen the Greenfield Philmore model in my searches too, and a gorgeous thing she is! Better believe that custom build is in another price bracket though. . . Anyone know the actual pricing on one? Seems none of the dealers mentioned actually have one in stock, and I haven't gotten a reply re: price. I assume it is off the charts expensive. I posted the Greenfield just because it has a 14" lower bout - seems kind of like a rare dimension. I think it is interesting that more folks don't offer an AM size, though it could just be there is no market for it. Yes, I did notice the SAS1500 but thank you very much for posting the link. It's a beautiful guitar, and I assume the neck feels the same as an SA2200. I see that Sheryl Baily plays one - she seems to like hers a lot. From what I could see on Japanese websites, they retail for about $1,400 or $1,500. Seems it won't be long 'til the AM's reach those kind of prices on e-Bay. Really adds to the regret I already feel having sold my AM50 in the mid 80's for $275 - a whopping $25 more than I paid for it. Other similar models to the Ibanez AM is Gibson Custom Shop's CS356 and Johnny A. Signature guitars. Incredible instruments, but priced between $2850 - $3,850 street. I've heard Paul Jackson Jr. playing that guitar and it sounds fantastic in his hands! Too bad they are so pricey. Paul Jackson now has his own signature model made by Gibson's Custom Shop. It's based on the CS-336 but has a straight string pull (snake-head) headstock, Nashville bridge (vs. ABR) and a slightly different body shape harkening back to the ES-446 & Pat Martino models. All of them fantastic sounding guitars for sure! And yes, they are expensive. I keep Paul Jackson Jr. CD's in the deck for his gorgeous tone and incredible playing. Check out "The Power of String" and "Still Small Voice" for his signature clean, compressed sound. I happened to be listening to an online demo of some of the sound effects he uses. Never heard of him and wasn't terribly interested in the sound effects, but was floored by his technique and sound. I went out and found one album of his - "Still Small Voice" - and have been listening to it a lot. Thank you for the information regarding his signature model and also for correcting my mis-naming of the CS-336. Yes, very expensive guitars as are many of Gibson's models. Wouldn't it be great if Ibanez launched an Artcore United version of the AM series guitars? Darryl
