This is to alert you all to a problem I discovered with my HB and GHS 11-52 flats. After a slight tightening of truss rod, since guitar came with 10's guitar played beautifully. But, after 4 days it began to buzz from fret 14 on. I eyeballed and saw a slight hump beginning near the neck pickup, so I immediately loosened the rod, ditched the strings and put on roundwound 11's 11-50. That was 3 days ago...everythings ok now!!! That was a close one. I suggest , if you are experimenting with 12's, you carefully watch for a hump developing on the upper bout near the neck pickup. If you see it developing go down to 11's. |
