That one belonged to ICW member Johnny73.
We discussed it in January 2007:

Cheers all. I'm interested in an Af120. However he says the serial number is CT09100, could this be our friend at the factory with the terrible handwriting. Might the T be a 7? There's not much to go on here but if it was a 7 then that would be a 6 figure serial with the C prefix (Cort). Is there a 6 figure s/n. The head stock is the thin one and it has no AF insignia on the tail piece, it's the gold one with the curly shape. I will try to get him to take a picture of the label. It is apparently in mint condition so is it worth £300? Any advice appreciated.

If you think it's a 7, I'm pretty sure it's a 5.
The guy wrote my label too, and indeed it's terrible, but pictures of several labels of his hand gave me enough clues. They worked as Rosetta's stone.

If you look very well you will probably find a very small curl at the bottom of the digit, and he puts a dash through the middle. Well, that's his 5.
His 7 BTW, looks like something between 1 and 2.

Well the price... 300 pounds is 450 euro. It was 995 euro new in 2001.
So, if it's mint, that's fair. It wouldn't be fair to calculate in dollars, now.

Cheers Ginger for the reply. I'm unable to get a picture. It does seem likely that the owner may have mistaken the 5 for a T especially if he crosses it. (who crosses there 5's? new one on me) If it is C509100 that would make it a Cort 1995 production number 09100 right? is that consistant with the narrow Artstar headstock and non AF initialled tail and does this mean it has Super 58's?

It is. Cort only made narrow headstocks in 1995 and 1996.
The fact that is was made by Cort means it has Super 58's.
Samick used non-waxpotted Super 50's.

The price I mentioned was by heart based on the price of the 200, which was in the Musik Produktiv Handbuch für Musiker 2002 (6.20 euro big fat catalogue) for 1995 euro, and I knew the AS120 was about 50% and the AF120 about the same.
But now I checked:
In 2002 the AS 120 was 1024 euro case included.

The price of the AF120 is even a bit higher.
In 2001 an AS120 was 1795 Dutch guilders;
In 2001 an AS120 was 1995 Dutch guilders.

I think it's a safe buy for 300 pounds which is 999 guilders, so 50% of the 2001 list price.

Cheers for the advice Ginger it's much appreciated. Have you checked out the classifieds maybe I should save my money for one of Boogies babies.
Thanks again"

Or click Search, type ct09 <enter> and you're in the thread.

So: 1995 was our conclusion then.
If you could upload a picture of the label (<50K) then I could confirm the handwriting.

you type without the string double quotes:
"\image"
immediately followed by
"{titleofyourpicture}"

You fill in your username and password as usual.
Then click Preview/Post Message

Then you get a preview with a small green frame in it that says "Your Image Here" or something
You click on "Post this Message" and you get the possibility to browse for the location of your pic on your PC.
Do so, select it and click OK,
Then click on "UPLOAD"

I guess that's about it...

Yeah, there it is! That is his 5. Look at the bottom, and you see a tiny curl: the curl of his 5.
Then it goes straight up and then he crosses it a little too low.

So the serial number is C509100
Cort
1995
normally I would say 09 is September
(Ratfinks3 has/had an AS120 serial nr C509071)
You see that both, his AS120 and your AF120 have production nrs that consist of only 3 digits.
Samick used 4 digits.
This is because Cort was a much smaller company with a lower production, but that has changed.
So you have nr 100.
