Hi Boo The 2457 is a pretty tough to find model. In my 5 years of collecting the copies I've only seen them pop up on Ebay 2 or 3 times, mostly in fair condition or with non-original or missing/non-working parts (missing the 6-position rotary switch etc.) I once met one "live", in pretty original, but also in pretty worn condition and the price was way too high (around 1500 Euro, that is about 1800/1900 US dollars) It's supposed to be a very good and well-built guitar and very versatile by the many "at hand" sound possibilities. Are you asking because you can buy one? Kind greetz, Harry |

Hi Harry, Thanks for the response. The one in question is a '77. No 'varitone' rotary switch. It has gibson style 'tophat' vol/tone knobs. Just like the one you (I believe) posted a pick of awhile back in a post. Has the same trapeze tail piece and finish. The seller didn't even know the difference of a bolt on and a set neck. Come to find out it has a set neck. $700 or obo. is the asking. I have an AM50 that I'm very happy with. I'm wondering if I already have the tone in the AM50 or does the 2457 have something more to offer. I believe there are Super 70's in the 2457. Boo |

The Holiday's must be getting to me. It is a 2454 (like yours pictured in an earlier post)not a 2457. The seller had no idea what model it was (Evidently niether do I). Just a pic and serial #. Soooo any comments on the/your 2454? |

Aha!.... The 2454 is a guitar that's familiar to me, because -like you noticed- I have this one in my collection too. It's really a great guitar and pretty much as rare as the 2457; my 2454 is the only one I ever met "live" and I immediately bought it. I think I payed around 700 US dollars. It has no massive sustain block in the centre of the body, but indeed a set neck. As for the wiring and the sound: it's pretty standard, but it's everything you might expect from such a thinline guitar. Great for blues, jazzy things and the bridge-pickup won't let you down when you want to add some crunch or overdrive for a little Rock 'n Roll. You allways have to be careful for feedback, since the body is completely hollow. And yes, if the pups are still the original ones, they should be Super 70's. I think that compared to the AM50 you will find a slightly warmer and more "vintage" sound. The neck is a dream to play and overall the guitar is very well-built. So it's up to you wether you want to spend 700 bucks on it or not. But I'll tell you: you wo'n't find another one very easy... Kind greetz, Harry |
