http://www.qksrv.net/click-1802666-10381315?loc=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI .dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D7382327322
says 77, serial is 78, head looks like 80+
it's not a 2355 nor fa-100
what is it?

2616 has different inlays and the ibanez logo is the old one.
the tail piece is also different in the 2616.

I think this is the elusive 2635 model. See the following thread:

This has been covered before on this forum. It is Ibanez's revised model 2616. They changed its design in 1978. I think they made thatone for about 3 years. These guitars pop up from time to time on ebay and on gbase so they're not all that rare... I bet it's a nice axe anyhow. I used to own one of the earlier versions of the jazz artist which I didn't like all that well but each guitar really is different so you never know..

Any chance you guys can leave this one alone and let me bid on it?!?! :-) I keep losing auctions on archtops and I'm going a little crazy! :-)

It looks like a 2635 to me? Why would it be a 2616 instead?

Hehe...I'm not sure I'm prepared for how much it is going to go for...right now it is at $970 and the reserve hasn't been met...

I think these archtops will keep going up in price. Judging from the ones sold in the last year or so, even the plain jane FA100s and FG100s will be over $1,000 soon. If you must have one, I would find a good sample and just bite the bullet.

I've never handled a 2635 before, but it seems to have the same features as the 2630's. Add to it that it is full acoustic and were probably made in much lower numbers, it may fetch as much as an AS200 would if not more.

Never seen anyone ask us to NOT bid on an item before!

Good luck Msawitzke!

Only six hours into a seven day auction, this FA100 has gone up to $885. My prediction of thousand dollar FA100s may come true sooner than I thought.

I didn't bid...that was a beautiful guitar but I decided I'd rather have a 2355 or FA and that I'd rather pay $800-$1000. That FA is gonna go for a ton the way its going...it's at $1000 now!!

I need to buy SOMETHING, though...I'm using an AF-120 now, and it is fine, but I need a higher quality axe...

I had a guitar very similar to the one pictured in this thread, which I purchased used in 1986 for $325 from my guitar instructor. It had a four digit model number, but for the life of me, I cannot remember what it was. It had the ES-175 body style, 16" lower bout, 3-1/4" body depth, a sort of reddish to yellowish burst, gold hardware and a L5 style tailpiece. Headstock looked more like a Gibson than the one pictured in this thread. I sold it in 1999 for $500. I thought to myself, I can't believe someone would pay that much for this guitar. Whereas I do not miss it, I sure wish I would have waited until 2006 to sell it. :-)

Yeah, whats the deal? Aren't FA-100s usually more like $1000?

3 hours left and it's at $1580... that must be some sort of record for a FA100.

The highest price I've seen before this one was like $900. Looks like we have a "seller's dream" here: two bidders both decided that they must have the guitar.

Crazy...For that dough you can get a Benson or Metheny...maybe even a deal on an actual 175...

There are actually two 2355s on ebay right now with a little over a day left. They're both burst color and looks to be in good shape. Anyone looking for a 175 type guitar should look'em up. At the moment they're only bid up to between 4-500usd. Do a search for "ibanez 175" and they'll pop up.
