I will pick up a '77 2454 tomorrow night. The seller dropped his price to $500 from $700. The guitar is very clean and I just can't pass it up. Looks to be an ash top by the grain. Can anyone confirm this? I'll post pics once she's home and tidy. Would love opinions on these somewhat rare birds. Thanks to Harry for earlier comments. |

Hi Boo I have exactly the same guitar in my collection. It's a damn fine guitar, but remember that it has no sustain block, so watch out at higher volume level (feedback problem). For the rest: it has an awsome neck and it's very well built (set neck). You wont regret and the price is a steal! Mostly the tops of this kind of guitars was not solid but laminated. The catalogue says: "arched birch top", which probably means that the upper layer of the laminate is birch. But what the hell!! The guitar is great and pretty rare too; you only see this very model very seldom! So go for it! Kind greetz, Harry |
