Hi guys!

I just found this for sale on an Italian internet site.

front-2.jpg

It is a Cimar 175 copy crafted in 1970. The price is 850 Euro.

... Any opinion?

Hello mate and welcome to ICW!
I never played a Cimar copy. But from what I've heard it's a "stripped down" Ibanez, that is, the quality of the materials isn't the same.
This is again no first hand experience!
I also think the price is way too high.
I would aim high by saying 500 euros, really..

You're right Petruz!

the proof is that I recently found this offer for sale: IBANEZ John Scofield Signature dic 2004 JSM 90-VT.

I remember that you already posted a remark about it times ago. Fortunately, the price went a little bit down (euro 300)

no one seems to know this model, probably it's an artcore, someone said it's a fake.
obviously i was very curious to see it in person, if it was in rome i'd like to check it out, but the guy lives in naples.

"someone said it's a fake"
That's right. One of my contacts at Serlui (Hoshino) Holland said that at least the label is a fake.

I saw and heard an old "lawsuit" version of this Cimar ES-175. It was used by a singer in a blues band at a jazz and blues festival. From a distance it looked just like a Gibson...
"Ci...." / "Gi...." ???
Of course I had to talk with the owner during their brake. He seemed quite satisfied...
