What I dislike about that auction is that, after the first bid, two guys who obviously wanted the guitar beat each other over the head as the only two bidders, all the way up to $1,150. I was watching at the close, and the winner, who obviously had the software to jam in at the last second, came out of nowhere at $1,175. The guy with the best software won. The best part about the auction was that I didn't bid, but instead "overpaid" $700 for the other, previous AS-50 that had not reached reserve last week, and which came with the Gibson PAFs I'd have had to buy anyway. And which is a killer. If my post lead you to think that, I apologize. Is your friend's FA100 the one with a $1,300 BIN price? That may be enough to stop a number of bidders from trying, and besides, 10 days is a long time. Your friend is right in not placing false bids, it may turn around and bit him. Just tell your friend to be patient, it's a price you pay when you run a 10-day auction. The guitar is in really good condition. Its not mint but very minor scratches and stuff like that.
