Can someone kindly tell me the brief history of AS50 model?

1) Are these all Korean made or some Japanese and some Korean?
2) If there're two kinds, is there any difference?
3) When did they stop manufacturing AS50?

I thought they were all made in Japan but I just saw a Korean one at eBay.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I know the first part of the story. Ibanez already had the Japanese-made, ES-335-sized AS series going well in 1981 with several models, when they decided to introduce an AS that was proportional but about an inch and a quarter smaller at the lower bout than the other AS models. That was the original AS-50, made for 2-3 years. In the space of a couple of years, they discontinued the AS-50 and introduced an even smaller semi-hollow body in the form of the AM series. That was it for the AS-50 from Japan, as I understand it. Any AS-50 after that was made in Korea, but I'm not even clear whether the Korean AS-50s maintain that original body size. A vintage Japanese AS-50 goes for $600-$700 and is worth every penny IMHO.
