-Got a 2355M, recently. -Having worked at a well respected vintage shop for quite a few years, I'd know if this guitar of mine were a re-fin'. -Might it be some "transitional" piece after the lawsuit-era, that it has no serial, yet a tulip shaped headstock? -I'd love to know what year it is. -Super 70's by the way-- |

Isn't it a FA100? |

It doesn't seem to be an FA100. Split parallogram (sp) inlays. Also, it doesn't have that Byrdland-looking tailpiece. I'd post pix if anyone's curious. Thanx!! |

note the inlays and the back of the h'stock is clean as a whistle. NO evidence of the serial having been removed: . |

Thinking straight foreward: I think it's "just" a 2355M that seems to be forgotten when the serial numbers were stamped in..... Every detail points in the 2355M direction, so.... I don't have any possible alternatives in my archive. Kind greetz, Harry |

I have an Ibanez Artist 2616 from the same peroid that has no serial no.s. Has the block Ibanez logo on the headstock. I don't think Ibanez used this logo pre-serial. A number of years ago an Ibanez dealer did tell me that this was one of the few models (body types) that Ibanez outsourced from another factory to keep up production to an expanding market whilst headstock changes were being made. Hence no serial no's. Only someone from Ibanez could say if it's true or not. Sorry, no close ups available. |
