I just purchased a AS80 in great condition in a local classified. Unfortunately I didn't have the chance to plug it in when trying it out. I got it home and plugged it in and the volume/tone controls have something wrong with them. When I started to play it seemed fine then I turned the neck pickup's tone control and heard a loud crackling and now the volume controls for both the bridge and neck pickup don't respond to volume increase after level 3. This guitar is in unplayed condition and it's a 2001. So I think that the guy I bought it off had it in a damp place and there's maybe some corrosion in the volume/tone control system. How much would a tech charge to change the pots or clean it? Thanks in advance. |
