What do you guys think about this white Artstar AS200WH? A bit too pale for my taste, but hey, what do I know. http://cgi.ebay.com/Ibanez-Artstar-AS-200WH-John-Scofield-335-Hollowbody_W0QQite mZ7404613831QQcategoryZ33043QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem |

From '88 thru '96 they changed the AS200 body shape, as well as the headstock shape. It's not my favorite time-period for the AS200. |

Orval: Are you saying that the AS200 in solid white finish for the '88 thru '96 period were low production numbers? Don't know why. They mostly show white ones in the catalogs for those years. If it has to be a solid color, I'd much rather have a black AS200 (like Sco's custom made one). But what I'd really like is one of those rare natural colored ones. Mmmmmmm....good! |

john, while the white as200 was in the catalog, there are not many to be found. i bought one back in the 90's but have not seen that many for sale in my years of collecting. as a relative measure, the ae200 in blonde and in burst were shown in the catalog, how many of them exist? neither of them were sold in the usa. btw, i got that ad finally, it is apparently from a namm show type ad. i owe you a scan, thanks orval |

Here is a shot of the '88 Ibanez catalogue for non-USA models. It appears that the White (WH) finish was available from '88 through '91 worldwide and the natural (NT) only in '88 for Japan market only.
