I think we will see them coming! I'd like to see some new colors for these customs. Maybe a reverse of the above guitar. |

Yes, yes yes! Or maybe a nice deep golden or amber burst quilt top with pickguard and fretboard matched in a contrasting color to the body. |

This model is available at a couple local stores here in Colorado and one in Montana (Guitars of Montana?). I was puzzled by this model too, but our local music store guy says they are available. Seems the same as the af105, except for looks. |

That is one sweet looking guitar! OK Hoshino, if you're test-marketing this model for US consumption, stop teasing us please! Could this be a preview model for NAMM 2007? |

found this on the ibanez japan site AF105LBK (luthier's black). these are getting pretty closer to a "real" ibanez... put an ebony fretboard on it and voilą!

Do you play tim or are you mostly a collector ?The reasone im asking is because most of the jazz players ive heard, have more of a thin acoustic type of tone. Some jazz boxes are indistinquisable, from acoustic guitars(recording wise)Im guessing live shows are much different?Ive never been to a jazz show(live )When i think of lush fat tones i think of Zakk Wylde,Joe Satch,Vai, too many too mention.Even Ted the wild man Nugent plays a jazz box.I think it was one of his first albums(Free for All)hahahah the thing(guitar) wasnt set up for rock. I.M.O.Hendrix back in the day sounded heavier than the Nug.My point is i guess im somewhat jaded by the heavy rich sound of Rock and Metal. But you say lush ,fat- tone i cant equate these two types.I dont see any comparison. One is thin(w/out drive) the other over powering!Maybe a jazz box through a Dumble could change my mind ? |

Fingers~ I'm a player who has a modest collection of many types of guitars, including a few archtops. Your comparisons are more rock oriented, with overdrive and high volume playing. Dumble and high gain Marshall amps are specifically for rock/blues playing. I appreciate all types of music but am more into the jazz/r&b/blues genre. Jazz guitarists mostly go for a clean tone that comes from either a solid state amp or a powerful tube amp with plenty of headroom. Take a listen to these jazz players for the type of lush jazz/archtop tones I referred to: Wes Montgomery, Kenny Burrell, George Benson, Joe Pass, Pat Metheny, Pat Martino and more Wes Montgomery. |

Hello, I'd like to add one of my favorites to the list: Jim Hall. He plays custom made guitars (and Gibsons?). I can't remember the name, but it is a guitar shop in New York. Did I remember even this right? Well, I'll have to do a web search. Juha |

Juha, Jim Hall currently plays a signature model manufactured by Sadowsky Japan (Roger Sadowsky's mains shop is in New York as you mention). It appears to be very nice guitar, modeled after his D'Aquisto. I think Jim played that D'Aquisto for quite a long time. Before that, he can be seen playing an ES-175 and a Les Paul (w/Chico Hamilton). He may have played other guitars, but those are the ones I remember seeing him play. I agree - he gets a great tone...especially live. |

> I agree - he gets a great tone...especially live. You make me feel envious. I have listened to some older recordings. I'll try to find some more recent (and also from other players). Big stars don't visit our far away small country frequently. Jim Hall's web page is http://www.jimhallmusic.com Juha |
