It's supposedly mint. Even so, seems high. What do you think my mint AM300PW would fetch?? http://www.qksrv.net/click-1802666-10381315?loc=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI .dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D7421032726 mk |

Michael, I've been watching this one too, and it is high, and getting higher by the day! I know I was semi-ammused at the seller for copying/pasting the AM info from this site: http://www.speakeasy.org/~sven/site/ Thanks,, Mark |

On ebay they normally are a bit cheaper, but then the best codition is 9. This one is mint and with OHSC. I'm happy to see that a mint AM50 is sold so well. 27 bids and over $1035.=! It confirms the estimate in the Argus list: €1000.= As you might know, I have one myself, near mint (what's mint?) and OHSC. Not planning to sell though. Ibanez kept the AM50 in production for a long time, and in the last years it had become quite an expensive guitar. As I remember: about 2300 Dutch guilders ($1150) in 1993/'94 without the case. So, if it's really mint... $1035.= isn't that bad for NOS. The new owner is going to start on a brand new neck. And believe me, these necks are superb! Put a new set of Dean Markley jazz lights (011 with a wound 3rd) on it, and the neck stays dead straight. Really fantastic! Greetz, Ginger Ale |

I have an AM-50 and yes, they're wonderful. by the way...AM50's were only made between 1982 and 1984...maybe you're referring to newer models (AM300 & AM400)? mk |

No, it was AM50. In 1988 they were still in production, and they were on the Dutch distributor's pricelist of 1993/'94. Could of course have been NOS. But I think you're wrong about 1984. I think it was 1994. I'll take a look in my archives and make a scan of the Dutch pricelist 1993/'94. Keep you posted. Ginger Ale |

Promised to keep you posted. Didn't need the scan. Not as Artist, but as ArtStar, there were AM50's in the catalogues of: 1990 http://www.t3-kundenserver.de/htmlpages/redasys/_core/databases/t_meinl-uploads/ 1990_gesamt_mini.pdf 1991 http://www.t3-kundenserver.de/htmlpages/redasys/_core/databases/t_meinl-uploads/ 1991_gesamt_mini.pdf 1993 http://www.t3-kundenserver.de/htmlpages/redasys/_core/databases/t_meinl-uploads/ 1993_gesamt.pdf Then in February of 1994 they're gone: http://www.t3-kundenserver.de/htmlpages/redasys/_core/databases/t_meinl-uploads/ 1994_februar_gesamt.pdf What is remarkable, is that the pickups are referred to as STANDARD HUMBUCKING PICKUPS. They are called the same as the pickups in the 1994 AS80 made by Samick. (If they are Super 50's, then they haven't been wax potted). So we're probably talking MIK ArtStar AM50 here. Ginger (Ale) |
