Does anyone know what brand of tuners Ibanez uses for its Artcores? I have an AK85 and would like to add ebony buttons to the stock chrome tuners and need to know what brand will work. They look like Gotohs but I don't know. Thanks! |

I have to think that one of you Ibanez "experts" knows what brand of tuning machines are used on the Artcores??!! Take a guess...anyone? :-) |

They are definitely not Gotohs. I believe they are "no-name" tuners made in China, patterned after the Gotohs used on higher end models. They are no doubt very cheap, but they seem to work well.
I don't know if Gotoh knobs will fit, but a complete Gotoh machines will drop right in with no mods. Gotohs are pretty cheap, and work very well - I'd just go for a new set of Gotohs. |

Thanks Funkle! I would tend to agree with you and I went ahead and purchased the Gotohs with ebony buttons from LMI...just $48.00. The shapes of the new machines and the stock ones look identical but the quality of the "real" Gotohs is much better. No comparison. Thanks for your response. |
