i recently saw a 1978 2630 for sale at a local guitar shop for $1000. There are very few nicks on the sides, back and top are practically mint, but there is some corosion on the pickups and sadle. Also, the three way toggle for the bridge pickup loses about half it's volume in single coil mode. Any idea what could be causing this? does it sound like a good deal? thanks, Whit |

Wlove2630~ Corrosion is to be expected for that vintage and model. From your description the 2630 you spotted sounds like pretty good overall condition. The electronics are easy to upgrade. Remember that the tri-switch on 2630's is wired to the bridge pickup, not the neck (as was done on later AS180 & AS200's). Try to negotiate the price down to between $800 and $900 since you will need to spend a little to bring her back to her close to her original glory. Good luck. Tim |

Hi Whit There may be some paint cracking around the neck joint that wont be serious but look out for any neck movement while you are inspecting the guitar. It's not the strongest joint as far as glued necks go. six |
