2460 pick guard replacements

I took mine off awhile back and it is breaking down to the point that I won't risk putting it back on. I think it looks better without it but have saved it for collector value. Most affordable aftermarket ES (and copies) pickguards are black. Bound tortoise pickguards are mostly custom made and expensive. (But beautiful) After a new Windows XP installation (my girlfriends laptop crashed: damaged config SAM), I lost my bookmarks. But I remember the name "pickguard heaven". They sell custom made pickguards, also for Ibanez. http://pickguards.us/ or more specific: http://pickguards.us/priceibanez.html I think you need either material 41 or 112, which is class E. I'm not sure, but I think model 3258 (AF120BS) might fit. ($45.=) But it's good to draw a template of your own pickguard, measure the dimensions and PU distances. You could also buy a black L-5 plate for €8.12 like this one: http://www.backandforth.nl/scratchplates.html As you see, standard black Gibson imitation pickguards are much cheaper. It's price against beauty. If you just want to protect your top, you could (temporarily) go for cheap. I was lucky to find such a bound tortoise pickguard on my second hand Gibson The Paul (way to big) and put it on my AS120: beautiful! Compared to their bound tortoise ES-335 pickguards for $20.= So because you have an L-5, they assume you'll be willing to pay 400% for the same material. Pickguard Heaven make AF120 tortoise pickups for $45.= But they say nothing about a 5-ply binding. Keep the original outside the case or keep the guitar in a quick lock stand instead of in the case.
