Hi, Yesterday I traded my GB30 for a 20 year old Sheraton plus a serious amount of money and I must say that I am absolutely blown away by how great the sheraton sounds ! My GB30 was equipped with super 58 pickups and sounded very well but I would not change the sheraton's pickups for super 58's because the originals are perfect for the guitar. Maybe there is something technicaly wrong with your sheraton's pickups ? Jan |

Hi Jan Thanks for your reply My sheraton is ?? 3-4 years old it is natural blonde in exelent conditon. i will try to upload a pickture. i am not shure if we are having the same pickup,s in our sheratons. i miss the fat tone in the middle and high tone range. the action on the guitar is extremely good and the distance string/pickup is quite low. the tone i have is a bright tone, sounds resonaly good but but there are a long distance between my AM 205 and the sheraton. i play standard and modern jazz and use a sound like similar to George Benzon. The super 58 is the only pickup i have tryied that gives that sound. There are guranted others but i dont know whith ones. Uffe |

hello Uffe, I have heard that there can be a lot of difference between old and new sheratons so maybe that applies also to the pickups. I do know that my Sheraton sounds more jazzy and darker than my old GB30. That's why I would not expect the solution to your problem to be using super 58's but if you find a pair buy it and try it. Then you know. And if they don't do the job then you can probably sell the super 58's within days. Jan |

You'll find a pair of 58's in the classifieds here and also the solid body topics. Good luck |
