It's a '78 model 2630, predecessor to the AS200. It's in pretty poor condition. Missing the Super 80 in the bridge position and the neck pup looks shakey, also. The pickguard is gone, but based on the corrosion on the pickup, it's deterioration and gassing probably has effected the rest of the metal hardware. Personally, I don't think it's worth the current bid. But to each his own. |

Brent we all knew about this site a year ago. Although I must admit I had forgot about it. |

John, you totally agree with you about the current (winning) bid. It jumped from 589 on 9/23 to $1010.- on 9/25. This dbuuk01 bidding at 9:37:11 h seems to have had knowledge about the $1012.- maximum bid of 9:06:10 h From 589 to 1010 is an illogical jump for a guitar in this condition. This stinks. Let's see what happens with the bids on his Martin DXM during the last day (or with his "Antonius StradiNarius" violin. (This guy sells 364 items). Ginger |

IbanezFreak - Haha ya, I was hoping that everyone forgot about that site so I could get that guitar for about half of what it sold for. I personally thought the condition of the guitar's body was good! Although the pictures are too small, the selling store notes that "no visible cracks or chips". Aside from the missing pickup and the corrosion on the neck pickup, I thought it was in fine condition. I would have gladly paid half the final price. Not sure what ~G is talking about. The bid increments are $2.00. Like eBay, the Goodwill site supports proxy bidding. BTW - Goodwill is an intl. non-profit organization. They do good stuff. Which is why I think some items on their auction site go over fair market value. |

Brentm, I was not familiar with the nature of the Goodwill site, but your explanation is plausible. It is also possible that there is a personal relationship between the seller and the Goodwill organisation. Perhaps every penny goes to the Goodwill organisation, which would be a good thing of course. Indeed, a good piece of wood can be interesting if you have the missing parts laying around. Ginger |
