Hey,

I am looking for some replacement parts and a case for my '82 AM-205.

I need 4 new control knobs (shure grip?) and a new pickguard (mine is 3 ply balck). I would also like to find the original Super '58 pickups with covers.

Are there any distributors that carry these NOS parts or do I need to try and find them used?

I am in North Carolina, USA.

Hi Trumpus,

I was just in a discussion about humbucker pickups. And there are some things I must warn you for:
1) The '80s Super 58s have 3 adjustment screws instead of 2 and are hard to get.
2) The Super 58s on a AM205 are gold and even harder to get.
3) Your original pickguard was bound tortoise and is .... hard to get
4) Your original pickguard was bound tortoise and has .... probably started to deteriorate and gas out and caused your gold plated pickups to corrode. Replacing the black one can make the problem start again: pit corrosion of the gold plated zinc parts.
5) Some 'internet businessmen' offer Shure Grip knobs at ridiculous prices. Don't buy from these guys.


Ibanezfreak1960 knows the way to the distributor of NOS parts in the USA. I guess he'll mail you, if he reads this.
