Hi Mike K, I see that you're watching this one. Does the truss rod cover look funny to you? http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-1751-2978-71/1?AID=5463217&PID=1802666&mpre=ht tp%3A//cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll%3FViewItem%26item%3D270060292166 |

I think he had a top-lock installed, removed it and put some plastic over the screw holes. Ginger |

I think you're correct. I'd like to see better pictures of the entire guitar. I recently picked up an excellent AM255, so I won't be bidding. mk |

The seller, Alorenger, is an ICW member. He has placed a message about the auction in the Free Classified section. Maybe he can clarify some questions. |

Fingers, 3 pickups engaged simultaneously probably suck. I've a customised telecaster with a third strat pickup with mini-toggle switches and I have tried it on a Mexican Stratocaster DeLuxe, but I can tell you 3 single coils simultaneously just suck. If you use humbuckers of 9 KOhm, you will have a total resistance of 3 KOhm. If they're 7.5K each only 2.5 K is left. I see no advantage in using 3 pickups simultaneously. But there is an advantage in using a pickup in the middle position. The fact that it is between the neck and the bridge gives a different sound. The combination with the neck pickup will give a nice warm blues sound, and the combination with the bridge pickup will ad a more soft and mellow trebly sound then just the bridge pickup. What's important, is that you keep the old combination of bridge and neck. So I think 6 of the 7 possible positions are interesting, but don't expect too much of engaging 3 pickup at once. It could turn out quite blurry. But, since we're talking humbuckers here and not single coils, it's perhaps less bad than my experience with 3 single coils. Perhaps somebody else on ICW tried 3 humbuckers simultaneously... Alorenger what are your experiences? Which combinations do you prefer oh your guitar? Ginger |

Hi Ginger and gang. I took the center Pup out only because it interfered with my playing style. I only played with the front and middle.full bridge and bridge and middle. It sounded good but I took it out only because I kept hitting the center Pup. I'm playing a PRS Custom 24 and several Fender Custon Shops now and I prefer the the sounds I'm getting with only 5 selections plus I have a little belly bulge and they fit me better with the cut out. I am selling some Custom shops and a Master built right now. This AM 255 plays easier and faster than my Fenders. One was once owned by the lead guitarest of the band Sponge.. ebay...270062241841 This is the most beautiful guitar and a "one of a kind"...mint,Artist owned. . My AM255 is pictured two posts above, showing I took out the center Pup. Plays better for me and I"m not doing jazz anymore....just classic rock. You can only play two guitars at a time. The herd is getting thinned out.Thanx for looking.
